They are used in the most highly abrasive and corrosive applications where even high alloy and surface treated valves will not hold up to the service conditions. Ceramic valves are suited for throttling control as well as on-off installations. The inherent toughness of ceramic valves makes them an ideal choice for severely cavitating applications.
